ILL MANORS; AUDIENCE PROFILE

As you can see this is a reader audience profile that I have created for ill manors using Photoshop CS5. I have put on many different pictures that I think pretty much relate to ill manors for example, I have added a image of a gun which represents ill manors as in the movie they use a variety of different props and a gun is one of them which they have used many times and this represents violence in the movie and shows that this is a teenage gangster movie. I have also added a picture of the cast of ILL manors at the bottom which are a group of gang which have been in ILL MANORS and from the clothes they are wearing the audience is able to connote they are bad boys, as they are all wearing caps and wearing chains in there neck which represent there personalities. Furthermore i have also added a building of ill manors which they used to shoot in. In the centre of the profile i have added a picture of ben drew and the audience is able to see that ILL manors was produced by him. Also in the right hand side i have given a brief of who i think the movie is targeted at and i have said mostly male and this is because as the movie is all action and full of violence this is mostly liked by men as they like these types of movies and also the movie contains mostly boys in it which would attract males to watch it. At the top of the profile i have also added an image of a man smoking and this represents the movie as well because they are a lot of people doing drugs and smoking which represents bad. Furthermore i have also added 3 more images that i think represent ILL MANORS which is money as a lot of money and gambling is involved in it, posh car because they have used nice cars and expensive cars in there and nike shoes as a lot of boys are wearing those types of shoes.

Overall as you can see that my overall profile is all red, black and white and i though these colours would represent the movie as there is alot of blood, violence, hatred etc and these colours represent that as a whole which i have used. As i have made this on photoshop i have used many different tools to help me get this far as at the start i knew nothing about it and by trying different tools it has helped me produce this audience profile. All the images that i have put of represent the audience that i think have this kind of fashion  mostly people whom also smoke are likely to watch this, it is mainly males whom would watch this who are part of gangs, their age would range from 18-30 year olds and they would be strugglers and explorers such as C1, C2, D and E as they are the people that are going through these types of things in there life and are trying to get away from it but it is hard.the black and red creates a suspenseful atmosphere, I put the gangs in the corner and plan B's picture high above as that is who they listen to and follow,

Progress Report

20/01/2013; i have finaly come to a stage where i finished all my planning for my media teen drama programme. I have done all my work which was needed to do for the mise-en-scene which includes, the casting, locations, costume and make-up, lighting and the props. I have also added pictures for each showing exactly what things we will be using in our production and i have also posted up a video which we were insprired by and annotated it. Furthermore dupinder and Rashmi had also completed the script and i finshed of completing the storyboard which i completed today within 3hours. I have drawn out exactly all the shots and scenes we will be doing and also writen next to it how long each shot will be.

ACTION PLAN;

_ Tell sir about our final idea and what he thinks
_ To start our shooting

STORY BOARD

I have finally come to a stage where I have completed my storyboarding for our production. Which I have completed today within 2-3hours. As it took me time to get each shot done properly. As you can see there are clear shots which we are going to be using in our production which is part of our production. In the first shot i have drawn a picture of the building which will be shooting in which is going to be Ealing town hall which contains a flight of long stairs where our protagonists will be walking down when she comes out. There is also an extreme-close up on the eye to show that this is the type of shot we will be using for the specific scene. As soon as we finshed the script we moved straight onto doing our storyboard and this will give us a visual look of how our production will look like overall. As a group we feel that when we have finally started shooting our teen drama we can then consistently look back to guide us and help us on what we need to do and if we need to add on more shots we will do so as we do more planning we may think of a few more ideas to put in it. But at this very moment we feel the storyboard is up to scratch and a reliable source of when it comes to us looking back on it, because it's visually helpful and their are captions and shots to carry on guiding us which is very useful. However as the stroyboard only contains 11 shots we think its way to short so as a group we have decided to do some more planning and re-do this so we can have a minimum shot of 40-45 as we need to make it outstanding as possible to engage our audience into watching it

(Rashmi walks down the flight of stairs upset with her phone in her hand, texting someone. She get's out of the building and there consists of a fast shot of her walking past the shops, with her phone in her hand, we can see a close up of the suspicious someone texting her saying "Come and see me now or else". She's really worried)

(Clip ends with the cliff hanger)

MIS-EN-SCENE PLANNING;

CASTING;

This is a picture of rashmi, me and dupinder, and us 3 will be casting in our production. Rashmi, she is going to be the protagonist of our teen drama production and will have the main role to act in it. We chose her to be the main protagonist because as she is good at drama she would be good in acting, also she is really good with facial expressions etc. This would be significant for us as she is well trained. She will also be getting training and help from us and we will be building her confidence so everything goes as planned. Furthermore we will also be hiring other actors to perform in our teen drama production as the more actors we have the more we will be able to engage the audience. We will be going down to the drama department and asking them for their best actors as we want our production to be the best with amazing actors acting in it. As we want to get the best actors we will also be doing an audition so we able to see a variety of actors and pick the best ones for our production. On the other hand in our teen drama i will also be acting in it as i am quite confident and i am also good at drama. However Me and dupinder will also be playing a role but we will have the minor role in this because this clip revolves mostly around the protagonist and it is mostly about her life (rashmi). In this i will be rashmi's college friend and i will only we say a line. Dupinder will be playing a different role and she will be playing the role of a boy who will be constantly calling rashmi however she wont be shown in the production as this will remain a enigma code and a mystery for the audience.
__________________________________________________________________________________

LOCATIONS;
TRAIN-STATION
This is a picture of a train station which is a part of one location that we will be shooting in. We chose this location as a group as we though this would be good to shoot as it would show a good location and engage the audience into watching it as you can see this train station is very outstanding and bright and we will be using high-key lighting in this to make it look more brighter when we are filming the protagonist in it. However it will be hard for us to shoot in a train station as we are not permitted to at the moment, but dupinder will be emailing the London council so we are allowed to shoot here with permission. Furthermore we will be using this location as our protagonist who is rashmi will be walking in the underground station and she will be in the train and when she walks out,we will be standing on the other side of the platform and shooting her while she walks out. This is however just an example of a train-station but we will be shooting in southall train station if we get the permission  to do so.

BUILDING

These are the two location buildings that me and my group have come up with. We will either be shooting in a temple in wembley which is a very popular temple as you can see it is coated in gold which is very interesting and is a wonderful building to shoot in as it would engage the audience with the building. Or we will be shooting in ealing town hall and these two buildings are both really useful for our production as it has stairs which we need.  In this we will show the girl walking down the flight of stairs of either ealing town hall or wembley depending on where we get permission and from this we want to show the girl has just finished her college and is walking out so the audience is informed what is happening. As she walks down she will be texting and then she will get a text message from someone and their will be a extreme close-up of her phone showing the audience the text message that she receives. and for this we may have a sound voice over to show the tension building on her face to create enigma code for the audience. While this scene occurs and she is in her journey to meet the guy we will be showing the setting of various locations (different buildings). Also another way that we will be showing the location is by having a dolly shot moving in slowly at the building with tense and enigma at the beginning of the programme as this will allow the feel curious and engaged. Furthermore for us to be allowed to shoot dupinder and rashmi have both emailed different locations to get permission so we can go on a shoot.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

LIGHTING
These are the two main types of lighting we will be using in our production which will engage the audience into watching it. We will be using key-lighting and also back lighting as well when filming at the train-station this is so that we are able to show the realism in the underground station and make it look more realistic so they audience are engaged into watching it. We will be using key lighting when the protagonists will be waking up after she has had her dream. And this is to create the realism that will be happening which we want to create for our audience and to emphasis the facial-expressions and her body-language that will then show her personality.

Low key lighting
Low-key lighting is a style of lighting for photography, film or television. It is a necessary element in creating a chiaroscuro effect. Traditional photographic lighting, three-point lighting uses a key light, a fill light, and a back light for illumination. Low-key lighting often uses only one key light, optionally controlled with a fill light or a simple reflector. Low key light accentuates the contours of an object by throwing areas into shade while a fill light or reflector may illuminate the shadow areas to control contrast. The relative strength of key-to-fill, known as the lighting ratio, can be measured using a light meter. Low key lighting has a higher lighting ratio, e.g. 8:1, than high-key lighting. The term "low key" is used in cinematography to refer to any scene with a high lighting ratio, especially if there is a predominance of shadowy areas. It tends to heighten the sense of alienation felt by the viewer, hence is commonly used in horror genres or suspense genres. We will be using this lighting often as our teen drama will involve alot of suspense and by using this type of lighting it will create enigma for the audience and keep them engaged throughout. we may show an area of low-key lighting because we want to portray the enigma and suspense also this will get the audience assuming various things

High-Key Lighting
High-key lighting is a style of lighting for filmtelevision, or photography that aims to reduce the lighting ratio present in the scene. This was originally done partly for technological reasons, since early film and television did not deal well with high contrast ratios, but now is used to suggest an upbeat mood. It is often used in sitcoms and comedies. High-key lighting is usually quite homogeneous and free from dark shadows. The terminology comes from the key light (main light). The other noticeable feature of High Key images is the lack of contrast. In addition for the tone being bright, you will notice that it is almost even across the scene. This is achieved by carefully setting the lighting of the picture. More about that later. A third feature, that need closer attention to notice is the lack of shadows in the picture. The shadows cast by the model (or subject) are suppressed by lighting in the scene. We will be using this type of lighting in our production as this lighting is very bright and effective and it would engage the audience as well as it makes the characters more stand out as well.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

PROPS

Props: We will be using a short amount of proper for our production as we feel we don't need much in our production, however the props we will be using mostly will be a ruckshak which rashmi (our protagonist) will be using throughout her journey this is to represent that she has just come out from college and started her journey. Moreover she will also be using a blackberry which she will use to communicate with the boy who wll be an anonymous person which the audience would not be aware of as they would not be able to see him as this is a mystery and this is to make the audience think and assume things and also feel engaged. She will also use to phone to call the boy and talk to him furthermore we have picked a blackberry as an communicating device as many teenagers ( our target audience) are aware of it and are currently using it which allows them to be more engaged.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

COSTUME&MAKE-UP

In our teen drama production i will be wearing casual clothes such as jeans and a top with a jacket and holding a bad in my hand representing that i have just come out from college as well. Also as im rashmi's collage friend i need to be wearing similar clothes as her also i will have a slight bit of make-up on me as well.  and for this i will have high-key lighting on to show my face properly so the audience is aware of who her friend is. I will also be wearing eyeliner and as there is a medium shot of me and rashmi talking my clothes will be showing. Furthermore dupinder will be wearing pale foundation to look more like a villain in the drama and a boy. However she will also be wearing a hoody and have low-key lighitng so the audience won't be able to tell. But her face will not be shown so the make-up doesn't really matter.also because she is in black it could represent the power she may hold, sexuality, sophistication, formality, her fear or evilness, unhappiness or even anger, Furthermore rashmi will be wearing casual clothing such as blue skinny jeans and a jacket this is because she is a casual person and will be wearing top eye-liner to connote she is a maturer person.

IDEAS;

This is a video that me and my group found together while researching some inspirational videos for our production which can help us.We then found this video which has inspired us a lot and we though this is well created and very interesting. we captured a series of idea's that inspired and intrigued us the most. This is because the rain affects that has been used throughout the video as the background was very effective and we thought this was one of the key features we could also use in our production as this would engage the audience. Furthermore if we use this within our production it would be to emphasis the use of the rain that is pouring in this video. What we as a group thought were the key features of the short clip was the use of slow motion it was used very effectively as the audience is able to analyse the

PLAN B

In 2008, Ben Drew directed his first short film Michelle which starred Adam Deacon and Skrein and he also directed the music video for "Pieces" (his collaboration with Chase & Status). In 2009, Drew had another supporting role as Noel Winters in the Daniel Barber film Harry Brown starring Michael Caine. In 2010, Drew appeared in Noel Clarke's film 4.3.2.1, and began production on his first full-length feature film, Ill Manors which eventually premièred on 30 May 2012. Speaking in March 2010 to UK soul-writer Pete Lewis – Deputy Editor of the award-winning Blues & Soul – Drew expanded on his first full-length feature film 'Ill Manors': "It's a hip hop, music-based feature film which has six short stories that all kinda mix together to make one BIG story – and each mini-story will be represented by a different hip hop track. It'll all be narrated by me, and it'll actually be the reverse of 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks' – in that with 'Ill Manors', the film will come out first and the soundtrack will come afterwards. And again the soundtrack will be a film for the blind, in that you'll be able to listen to it and it'll tell you the story of the film."

Progress Report;

31/12/12; this was the stage when finally me and my group done our presentation to the whole class presenting our final idea to them. This went quite well as we all presented well and each of us said our lines correctly to our audience. Overall once we presented our idea the audience asked us questions. They also liked our idea however some audience were confused so we took their questions into consideration and thought we should change a bit of our production according to how we want the audience to see it.

10/01/2013- I have posted up some sound and the meanings of different types of sound that we will be using in our production throughout and what we can use. Also i have spoke about this to my group and asking others what else we shall be doing. Last week we also done a lift pitch with Mr bush where we had 1 minute to tell him our final idea and this went pretty well as he liked it and we said it according to the time

15/01/2013- This was our next group meeting together when we made a action plan to do within the next week which all of us need to do till Tuesday which is;

ACTION PLAN;

- Continue with further research and analyse from inspirations from for example, e4 teen programmes

  before the pre water-shed.
- Wait for script to be done and start the story board
- Research location and Setting
- Schedule
- Mise-en-Scene planning; Casting, Locations, Lighting, Props, Costume and make-up
- Shot list

ILL MANORS;

This is my Plan B (Ben Drew) collage that i have produced using Photoshop  I have used the pictures according to how successful plan B has been, what has inspired him, his early life and his music career.
Plan B loves music and directing as he has produced a film called ILL MANORS that has inspired him and taught everyone how the young people are going through. On the bottom right corner i have put the plan B logo and this is who he is known by. Furthermore i have given the collage a slogan of my own that i think this slogan "Things dont always go as planned" goes along with the collage as sometimes things you expect to happen doesnt always happen however this still shows you should never stop trying

BEN DREW RESEARCH BIOGRAPHY & INTERVIEW

BEN DREW

 (born 22 October 1983), primarily known as Plan B or Ben Drew is an English rapper, singer-songwriter, actor and film director from Forest Gate, London. Plan B first emerged as a hip hop artist releasing his critically acclaimed debut album Who Needs Actions When You Got Words in 2006. His second studio album, The Defamation of Strickland Banks (2010), was a soul record and went straight into the UK albums chart at number one. He has also collaborated with other artists such as Chase & Status most notably on the top ten single "End Credits" (2009). Drew has also had a successful film career as an actor, with roles in Adulthood (2008), Harry Brown (2009), 4.3.2.1 (2010) and The Sweeney (2012). In 2012, Drew released the film Ill Manors, which he had written and directed, and Plan B also released an accompanying soundtrack album which became his second number one album.
Drew was born and brought up in Forest Gate, East London. His mother worked for a local authority and his father, Paul Ballance, played in a punk band, The Warm Jets, in the 1970s. Drew was five months old when his father walked out and six years old when he "disappeared completely".Growing up, he felt outcast from the rest of society. From 11, Drew attended Anglo European School in Ingatestone, Essex, was later transferred to Tom Hood School, a specialist Science College in Leytonstone, before being expelled and sent to Tunmarsh Pupil Referral Unit in Newham, for children unable to attend mainstream school. He finally left school with three GCSEs. He taught himself how to play guitar at 14, first playing Blurand Oasis with friends,then going on to write his own R&B love songs. At 18, feeling uncomfortable with R&B, he turned towards rap and hip hop music and wrote "Kidz", inspired by the murder of Damilola Taylor
Plan B first appeared with the track "Cap Back", produced by DJ Wonder (ex-Roll Deep), on the grime compilation album Run the Road (2005). Also in 2005, he released his first single"Kidz"/"Dead and Buried" as a limited edition 7" vinyl on his own label Pet Cemetery Records. He soon gained a recording contract with 679 Recordings and released his second double A-sidesingle "Sick 2 Def"/"No Good" with his début music video filmed for "No Good". In early 2006, Plan B released a video-only download single for "Missing Links", which had to be re-recorded because he did not gain sample permission from Radiohead

Ben wanted to be heard, but no one wanted to listen to a white boy from Forest Gate singing silly love songs. He began to rap, but that didn’t fit either: “I went down that whole route of just rapping about myself, saying my name and talking about how great I was – all that bravado rap. But it was shit. No one cares where Forest Gate is and all that. I don’t sell crack, I’m not a pimp – who’s going to be interested?” Then Eminem came along, and taught him it was OK to be himself, to rap in the voice of a white boy from London’s East End. “He was brilliant, he changed the whole game. He didn’t just influence white rappers, he influenced everyone. He showed that hip hop that didn’t have to be about the rings and the money and the hos.”

Rapping and singing in his own accent, playing his guitar, Ben began to tell stories about the world he’d grown up in. Some songs were written from personal experience (‘Mama Loves A Crackhead’), but most involved characters he’d invented (like ‘Kidz’, inspired by the murder of south London schoolboy Damilola Taylor). “Kidz was the first song that I wrote that was character-based. It wasn’t pre-meditated, I heard the beat and it just started coming out. But it felt right. When I’m trying to make a statement in my rap lyrics, I never really pull it off. I’m able to get a message across better when I tell a story. From then on, I wanted every song to be like a different short film.”

ILL MANORS; RED CARPET; ANALYSIS

This was an Ill Manors premier in London, and several artist answered questions from the interviewing based on Plan B, the films etc. Alesha Dixon said Plan B "keeps it real" so this straight away effective and useful as coming from an artist herself saying he keeps it real means she knows what she's talking about. Therefore, when the audience watch it they can expect to watch nothing but the truth which would encourage them more to view it even if the target audience isn't in the age range. Furthermore Alesha says "that's the thing with real life, people don't want to always face the truth but the truth is what we need and that's why I love Ben". This is showing and representing the key element as it's connoting that although the film may be emotional, hurtful or disgusting but it's the generation we are living in today. And the way the politics/governors represent the teenagers is wrong too and there should be action, by her saying that "the truth is what we need" instantly show casts that Ill Manors is seriously inspired and is an honest film which people need to see. By this instantly it promotes the film as people would want to know what truth they're talking about and come up with questions allowing them to feel curious about it therefore, enable them into watching it. "He's not afraid to say it as it is" it also shows that Plan B will speak what's in his mind throughout the film and this will allow the audience to engage because they get to know the artist/director more and possibly get to terms with agreeing with the director is understanding the message he's trying to convey.

What's useful is also having actors being interviewed in the premier as the audience get to know more about them and there beliefs. For example, 'Anouska Mond' plays Michelle in Ill Manors the drug addict who's a prostitute. And she gives an insight of her character what she is etc. This is advantageous for audiences who haven't seen the film yet as they are already able to identify one of the characters and may be curious about it allowing them to see the film in a whole. Ed Sheeran was also interviewed he was saying "He's got such a brilliant mind that he will do anything that he wants to... he collects out a lot of newspaper articles the film is based on real people". This is a very strong element as this shows how it's a true story and also Plan B has done his own research by going through newspapers consistently acknowledging real life situations that have occured and may be closely linked to the 'truth' of today's generation. Plan B said he saw potential in friends he knew and got them to be in the film, and he stated that "we didn't have the money man" to cast famous actors. And he goes further on " who would've acted with an unknown director who's never directed before". He stated working with unknown is what was going to make this film fresh, so audiences can not only discover new actors but see something different and unique which is linked to today's generation. Overall, from diverse actors/singers opinions promoting the film is useful by giving positive feedback and stating really to the audience's why they should watch it.

Print- promotions and adverstiments
This is a print advet of Ill manors, they've made this for promotion. Ill manors being in red and in the middle of the page could connote blood or danger as red is symbolic towards that, also it being in blood could connote something bad may occur, which will have a big impact within the narrative. The images are really bright and the first one is the biggest which could suggest something is based around that, also the gun in the guys hand suggests violence, and there could be something gun-related within the film, him pointing it towards himself within the mirror could connote he hates himself or something and wants to die, as something may have occured in his past life. The print advert is a way of promoting the film, and at the bottom there is a image of Ben Drew, which will attract the audience, as he is holding the camera which thus emphasis on him being the director of it, and people whom like his music will then go to watch the film. The top line is bold "we are all products of our environment, so environments are just harder to survive in" this suggests violence and conflict within the narrative to occur and this being put on a print advert would attract audiences whom enjoy watching violence, also it relates to the characters lives as where they are from the estate the life they live isn't so good, it is a rough area with drug dealing happening everywhere, which emphasis on the narrative of the film.

ILL MANORS; WAYS OF PROMOTING

The first and main page on the Ill Manors website consists of a various number of different characters. The film has a multi-stranded narrative which means that many characters are present however they all have different events and situations that they each go through. On the website all the characters that are presented are the protagonists which means that they are the main characters. The background/location behind the characters is a very similar location used in the film therefore demonstrating where the film may have be shot in. The design layout for the website has been cleverly put together which hints to the viewer the setting of the film, the main characters and its narrative (story line). It is very professional as an overall website page as an advanced tool bar/navigation bar is present and interactive which makes it unique from other film websites such as The Twilight Saga website. The scenes change automatically when the user clicks on a different link words such as 'trailer' and 'synopsis'. The posters on the wall are the film posters which were used to promote and broadcast the film in order to increase publicity.

The Ill Manors website features different tabs to present the trailer, synopsis, Ben Drew, stills, videos, links, reactions and albums. The fuction of the website to present to the audiece keys about the movie and what the movie consists of. If you click on the tab that says trailer, the video trailer of the movie appears to show few bits of the movie. The trailer has a high importance as it usually makes  the audience get attracted to the movie

In the trailer the codes and convections that we see are slogans, names of the stars, names of the company, names of the institutions that are involved, names of the companies that funded the film, the directors name, the release date, and the rating of the film. This is done in trailers because they want to gives us the main information about the film. Sometimes this has a strong affect on the audience, it could make them go watch it if they see that there favourite stars are in the film, or the director is their favourite director. The slogans which are also known as the taglines have a very strong meaning behind them. They connote something very strong that’s why they have used loads of them in the Ill Manors trailer. All the other convection that are used just explain the background of the film. Normally the trailers are distributed by the same studios that produce the film.

Furthermore, the use of synergy, as the album for Ill Manors, helps promote and broadcast the film. In fact, in the actual film, short snippets of Plan B's songs (lyrics) from his album (Ill Manors) are played in order to demonstrate emotions to the audience. On the website, you are able to purchase the ill Manors album on line which is good promotional skills as people who enjoyed watching the film may perhaps want to purchase the soundtrack depending on the style and genre of music they prefer. On the other hand, others who have already purchased the album may want to go watch the film. Therefore it works both ways.

The reason why they show the release date is because they want the audience to know when it would come out so they could go see it. The reason why the producer of the trailer puts the release date right at the end is because that’s the last thing they want the audience to remember. The audience psychographics for Ill Manors would be reformers and strugglers and demographics from the age group of 18 to 34's both men and woman as the film promotes woman just as bad as men. The target audience for Ill Manors is 18-34 and the producer uses fast and quick shot, the reason why the producer of the trailer uses fast and quick shots is because he wants it to be attractive to its target audience because the target audience is 18+ they are the audience who would normally like fast things. So that’s why the producer has used fast editing so it appeals to its audience.

 The main stars are visible in the trailer because they aren’t high professionalized actors or actresses, the producer of the trailer would have to show them on screen i the trailer, so that the audience can get attracted to them because they aren’t going to be that filmier with them. When the action in the trailer starts then Plan B’s songs starts playing which is synergy because he’s cross promoting his film and his music career.The genre of the film is crime drama and the producer of the trailer has used characters, settings, lighting, colour, music, camera shots/movements/angles and editing to represent the genre in the trailer.

On the website, another fact which helps to promote Ill Manors is the fact that it consists of a lot of different images and unusual colours. The background is a desaturated black; in terms of its colour; which gives the webpage and feel to the film, a very urban, gritty vibe. The fact that they follow a theme throughout the web page, which is the background of an estate, therefore giving it a really urban vibe. The dark sky connotes that the film may be quite gritty; in terms of its narrative; therefore making the overall film look like a struggle for survival.

Social networking site such as twitter has made promoting movies easier to promote there upcoming films/music to the world and a better way to get in touch with their audience in a simple way. For example other movies such as twilight was proved their popularity on both social sites such as twitter and Facebook both. And this shows to the audience that Social networking is useful and advantageous as audiences are able to look up and find the latest news of films/music etc on their social sites. Also as social networking has become very popular it is a new way in which ill manors have used it as well to keep their audience updated with the latest gossip. As you can see This is an official twitter page of ILL manors and this page is all about them, their film, their story and the career. However what i think is effective about this is that they are able to promote their movie globally using this twitter site with just a click informing the whole world about their new things as more than 4,000 people are following there official page and by seeing that it shows us the source of engagement and the level of communication going on between the target audience and the film. This also shows how popular ILL Manors have been and how much it has effective people as many people are huge fans. The benefits of this is that it is very useful and advantageous as diverse groups of people are able to discover more about their film and life also a good thing is that the audience are able to tweet to them, and watch the latest videos and keep up-to-date with valid information that ILL manors have been posting up which goes on regular on a daily basis. Advantages of this is being able to watch the ill manors music videos and songs to with the recommended link they tweet to their audience as they are able to view the latest music also, as most people are mostly using and connected to twitter will be able to look at it and this shows using twitter to promote your movie to the audience is a good way. Also the audience will be updated as they let them no it is out. So overall as you can see from the use of this site there are various ways to get to a wider range of audience.

The picture above is a screenshot of ILL manors official Facebook page and this is another social media site that they are using to promote their movie to the world and their audience which indicates, that the film is a worldwide blockbuster as this fan page has over 20,000 likes. The Facebook page is quite beneficial as people worldwide can recognize the film and know more about it, comment about it, watch the ill manors music video/song etc. highlights, that the film is a massive hit across people as the page received 22,971 likes and 240 "people are talking about this". The Facebook page is beneficial because, people can read more about the film, comment on it, watch Plan B Ill Manors song ect. Also, the DVD for Ill Manors is promoted as well on the Facebook which is effective, for people who want to watch the film or want to watch it again. Moreover, on the Facebook page they have put up the same print advert image of Ill Manors, to make the viewers more aware of the film.  The first thing people would look at straight away is the long shot of a male character, holding a guy, wearing a black jacket and jeans with a grey gap and looking worried. The E-media would be the website of Ill manors. The website lets the audience to explore and surf around to find out extra information they may not receive in any other way, about the film, characters and directors, this could be the most general information they want to know which they can receive, also the website being so simple and basic it would be easier for the audience to use.

E media & Broadcast

Firstly important information such as the realise date is also shown at the end as well as after the title of the film, this would make the audience aware of when the film will be coming out in cinemas. Moreover, reviewers quotesare published which is effective in promoting the film to the audience. In this case, 'Ill Manors' reviewers quotes are shown in the trailer emphasise that the film is worth watching as they publish positive comments about the trailer film. Additionally the director/producer name is stated at the middle of the trailer "From Visionary artist Plan B" which  conveys to the audience that Plan B made this film. This is effective, in making the audience aware who the director ofthe film is . Finally Non- digetic sound is used throughout the trailer of a voice over of Plan B.The voice over of Plan Bhighlights he is the narrative of the film  Furthermore,montage editing is used through out this trailer which shows it is anon linear narrativedue to the fast pace and  there is more than one narrative; which is effective in establishing excitement for the audience.

Progress Report 05/01/12

We have finally come to the stage of finshing our powerpoint which we had all completed yesterday. We also got in contact with eachother and rehearsed what we will need to be saying to everyone on the day we will be presenting it. Each of us have different slides to talk about and which we need to make sure will engage the audience making them like our final idea. After we have presented our power point we will be asking them for feedback on it and we will be making notes on it and taking it to consideration and then me and my group will sit down and have a discussion on what following changes we need to make.

Sounds useful for us for our teen drama;

Sound Bridges

This is the sound from one scene will continue into or over the next scene – the images we see change but the sound is still from the previous scenes. More often, we hear the sound from the next sequence before we see the relevant images. We could use this throughout our production to engage the audience

Parallel sound
This is the sound we hear which usually complements what we see – happy sounds for happy images and sad music at sad moments, this allows the audience to almost sense being there as such. This will also engage the audience as they will be engaged

  Contrapuntal sound
This is the sound we hear which doesn't complements what we see – sad sounds for happy images, scary music for happy scenes, this allows the audience to have a change of emotion or feeling and it could also confuse them.

Diegetic sound

This is literally sounds with the frame of the scene that you are watching e.g. dialogue, sound made by objects within the scene. Digetic sound can be either on screen or off screen depending on whatever its source is within the frame or outside the frame.

Non-diegetic sound

Sound that is usually added on after the scene is already done such as backing track, narrators commentary, mood music. This is usually done during editing after the scene has been completed.
