MEST 2; Progress Report

So far i have given different tasks to complete. Firstly my first task was to do watch 5 different programmes that relate to my teen drama and annalyse it for e.g, talk about the miss-en-scene, lighting, setting, cinematography and the target audience. I then went and researched 5 television programmes and watched them and saw what made them unique and succesful so i can get some ideas. I had then completed that and done a feed back to my group members giving my ideas on what i think should be added and what i have found out. This was completed on the 10th of decemeber 2012

My second task which was given was to aim for looking at locations such as pathways, roads, tree, nature and i have gone our and took a few pictures of southall which we would use in our production i have then annalysed it and put it on my blog. My other group members have also had the task to take pictures of other locations such as , daylight, night, sun, nature and anything intresting they find which can help us with the setting of our teen drama.

My third task was to go and research the E4 institutions and E! entertainment institutions and from this i have understood about the socio demographics of what target audience the E4 and E! fits into and how it fits into them. This helped me with my production because it helped me learn what type of grogrammes each channel consists of and from this i was able to share this with my group members. This would impact on our video because from knowing the institutions we are able to be fully aware of what kind of audience each programme relates too and how we can then make our production fit those needs. My other group members have also gone and researched different channels that relate to our teen drama for e.g. rashmi has researched the BBC 3 institutions, dupinder has researched E4 and mandeep has researched channel 4 and from this each of them have talked about it when we had our group meeting and we have taken this into considertaion and learnt that our audience is very similar and from researching these each of us have gained different knowledge about the target audience.

As a group we have set ourselves another tasks that we aim to do which is to make up our own questions and have a interview with some students in greenford high school teling them our idea and what they think of it. We will also be asking them on what they think a succesful teen drama would look like and what things they expect to see. This will help us more, as we will be able to take on board more idea's which can fit our target audience and we will therefore be able to adapt on them.

WWW; each of us got a good amount of different ideas that we could use in our teen drama. We have also done quite alot of research and planning such as we have found intresting locations which could help us with our teen drama.

EBI; we still need to do more research and planning and we all need to complete our tasks and present it to eachother the next time we have a group meeting
