What do you think of our idea?
Our Idea is as it’s only a 2 Minute opening we were thinking of having a suspense type of title-sequence and then showing a similar theme throughout, having a girl running in a building she’s afraid of her past coming back in her life. This is shown in her body language and facial expressions effectively, creating suspense for the audience continuously. Our locations would be very effective, as having west fields as the background scenery this would engage with our audience we feel. Then we have a train scene, were the girl goes back and looks for the past but audience are unable to identify the person, there not aware of who he is, why he’s there and what he wants. And we leave it as that, only having 2-minute opening sequence
Good/Bad
If bad how could we improve on our idea to allow the audience to engage with it?
What we are trying to look for;
These are the interview questionnaires we have given out to a few students to complete and these are the questions we are trying to find the answer for which could help us in our teen drama production as by knowing what our target audience want it will help us take that into consideration and put those thoughts into ours making sure the audience feel engaged when watching it. We have given a few open and closed questions so we can clearly see what the audience want. We have also asked them about what type of genre they would prefere so we could make this similar to ours. At the end of the questionnaire we have also given a brief paragraph of what our idea is to the target audience and are asking them what they think about it and what we can do to improve it.
What we have found out; (Results from Questionnaire)

Me and my group all had questionnaire sheets which we had made together as a group producing questions that we are trying to find out from the target audience. We thought of each question carefully and made it as short as possible so that the customers won't need to take much time completing it as it just takes less than 2 minutes to do. We then went out at lunch time to ask different people to complete in the questionnaire for us. We had 4 questionnaires each and everyone got different answers. These are the answers i had found out from the audience after they completed the questionnaire and took this to consideration. From the answers i have found out i have learnt from the first question that the Moriarty of people prefer watching comedy genre dramas and the other half had chosen drama and from this it shows that the audience are more engaged into shows that have a bit of comedy into it and drama which makes them watch it and this is beneficial because me and my group want to do a teen drama so the audience will be engaged throughout as they prefer drama. What we can do is add a bit of comedy as well so the audience feel entertained throughout watching it. However making comedy based drama is quite hard to entertain the audience in just 2 minutes so we thought a drama based programme would be best as in those 2 minutes we could make a lot happen to engage the audience. Furthermore so by picking this and have a bit of suspense it would be easier to get the audience attention as it would keep them into watching it to find out the enigma as we are expecting the audience to have the feel of watching more of it. On the other hand our second question was what type of channels you watch? and most people picked E4 and this was something that me and my group were expecting as E4 consider most of the shows that teenagers would be wanting to watch as it is contains the genres teenagers would prefer to watch such as comedy and romance and from the research that i had obtained on E4 institutions i found out it is a very popular teen channel that contains teen-series and most teens would be watching it and be engaged within it. From the second question we found out that most people watch pretty little liers and Waterloo road as from watching these we have seen how much enigma it contains and how the audience are being engaged into watching it from the use of different camera work, sound and lighting that all build suspense and something the audience always look out for.
As a group we all wanted to find out what type of programmes they watch the most so we can go and watch them and see what things they contain that the audience feel so engaged by watching it and from that we have gone watched the programmes that the audience have picked and most watched and took notes of what things they contain which makes it so popular and from this it could help us when producing out final clip. along with that i asked each individual what each programme contains that keeps you engaged into watching it and they responded that by having suspense it keeps them tune into watching the next episode again and again which then keeps them entertained and it keeps them thinking what is going to happen next and from this we have considered that in our 2-minute opening programme we want to be encouraging our audience to feel that this is made for them and feel that they always keep entertained and have their mind set into it. Overall from the 3 people i had interviewed i had found out they also like sound that goes along with the scene and from this they feel engaged into watching it. We then at the end had a group discussion about it and brainstormed all the answers we found and planned out what we therefore need to contain in ours which includes bright colours to attain the audiences attention. However at the end of the questionnaire we also wrote down what our idea was and asked the audience if it was good/bad and most of them liked it but did give us a few more ideas as by having more characters in and as for the location wise they liked it as they think it is a very good place to film so we took their to consideration and in our next meeting we will discuss their further.
